After the success of our first Social Media Week brainstorm, the second, with a consumer focus, took place last Wednesday 7th December at Ketchum PR's offices in Shoreditch.
The aim was to explore how social media is impacting our day-to-day lives from the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the music we listen to, the games we play, the sport we do and the way our families interact online.
Over 40 people from a variety of backgrounds, from food bloggers to fashionistas, gathered to discuss, share ideas and scheme for next February's SMWLDN around the following starting points:
- Family
- Fashion
- Food
- Gaming
- Music
- Sport
As with the first brainstorm, the idea was to end up with lots of scribblings that would help us as a group to:
- explore topics, discover different meanings of subject areas
- Brainstorm topics and ideas for events, whether general or specific
- Identify potential audiences, their interest and level of knowledge
Our latest recruit, (another) Lauren, painstakingly photographed and uploaded all of the flipcharts and uploaded them to Flickr and Facebook for your delectation...hope they're useful in inspiring events and collaborations:
How Else Can I Get Involved?
There's lots of ways to get involved:
- Volunteers
- Speakers
- Partners & Sponsors
- Venue Space
- Events
- Sponsors
If you would like to help with any of these things, please hop over to the 'Get Involved' page on Social Media Week London's site and fill in the relevant form.
