You'll need to be as happy working with pen and paper as on the Mac (extra credit for carrying a sketchbook), love typography, grid-based design and have an incredible attention to detail. Like all good designers, you'll need an innate understanding of the medium. And whilst we're not looking for another web standards guru (we have a few of those already) you will need to have a thorough understanding of XHTML/CSS and be comfortable building complicated CSS layouts.
