Bootlaw November Special!

For the November Bootlaw we thought we would do something a bit different. We are fortunate to have a special guest from our San Francisco office: Andrew Bridges.

Over the course of a glittering carrer, Andrew has represented many of the biggest names in Silicon Valley, including Microsoft and Google. He also sits an arbitrator in WIPO domain name disputes. He is a recognised leader in the field of intellectual property and has recently been cited as one of the 100 leading lawyers in California by The Daily Journal.

In particular, Andrew was recognized for his lead role in several high-profile intellectual property cases, including his landmark victory for Diamond Multimedia in litigation brought by the RIAA to stop the introduction of consumer MP3 music players and his recent victories in two cases brought by Perfect 10 Magazine. In those cases, he successfully defended Google's search engine in the Ninth Circuit on an important "fair use" issue. Also in the Ninth Circuit he turned back Perfect 10's effort to hold credit card companies liable for processing payments to websites with photographs that it alleged were infringing upon its copyrights.

Andrew is able to give a unique insight into the West Coast tech scene and the people working in it, from entrepreneurs to VCs to influential media figures.

Andrew will be speaking at Bootlaw about his West Coast experiences, as well as giving some practical tips on protecting and defending your intellectual property.

Please note that this will be the last Bootlaw before Christmas, so we'll be back in January!
