Description

Are you an artist or designer producing original material? This event will provide copyright and shared platform advice in partnership with Arts Council England, North East.

Whether you're new or experienced within the art and design industry you need to protect your copyright. Your original work has great potential value, but keeping hold of this asset or being paid appropriately can be challenging. This event will help you answer important questions about copyright and provide personal insight from a successful individual working in the industry.

Speakers will include:
John Beddard on Creative Commons, Open Source and protection on the internet.
Sneha Solanki, an artist, media trainer and educator. Solanki is also the co-founder of Polytechnic; an independent artists led organisation which operates with an emphasis on hands-on, open and distributed approaches to art and technology.
Matthew Rippon of BHP Law. Matthew is an IP and technology law solicitor covering both disputes and deals in a litigation or a commercial environment.

Admission is free, however in order to attend you must register and book your place online at: http://www.own-it.org/north/events/copyright-and-shared-platform-advice-for-artists-and-designers
