Effective Search Engine Optimization Strategies
All businesses want the holy grail of showing up first in an organic search on Google and Bing, but how do you go about achieving this? Playing the SEO game is fiddly and there is no single way to boost your company’s search ranking. However, this workshop will give you an overview of effective techniques and show you how to use search engine optimization in order to get ahead of the competition and increase your customer base and revenue.
Participants will learn how to pick the right key phrases that best fit a business, identify their searchers, and understand which search engines would be best used to draw them in. The course will enable participants to acquire the skills to manage the online visibility of companies more effectively.

- The Structure
The course will be 3 hours long and be taught by our mentor Christian Ahlert, who is the founder of OpenBusiness.cc a top online business resource. Christian regularly advises small business on their web strategy. He is also the founder of MiniBar a business network of over 3000 web entrepreneurs in London. Christian will also be joined by an SEO Expert (TBC). The mentors will present for one hour each followed by a Q & A session.
The workshop has been designed to support London-based individuals who might face the prospect of redundancy and London-based businesses who have been affected by the recession.

Participants will leave the workshop with a strong understanding of the principles of SEO and how to apply them. Those who own small businesses will be able to identify the keywords which will allow them to compete with larger companies, while those hoping to improve their employability will add a highly desirable skill to their arsenal.
The Online Business Essentials workshops are run by Open Business. They are held at London Metropolitan University and supported by Upturn, in partnership with the WOW Agency.
