Description

Changify is a new online and events hub for local community-led change projects backed by brands and local businesses, being launched early in 2013. We're bringing the excitement back to social change - with your input.

Want to make a difference this year? Have your ideas featured on the upcoming Changify platform - sign up for Changify Shoreditch 2 on the evening of 25th and daytime 26th January, get inspired about local change, and start to build support and find backing for the things you care about locally and want to change for the better...

What?
An exciting blend of local exploration, smartphone-based reportage, and creative problem solving, the themes for Changify Shoreditch are: Environment, Living, Business, and Transport.

How?
On Friday you turn roving urban reporter:

Explore past, present and future Shoreditch on walks hosted by city guides Peter Berthoud and Alternative London.
Snap, tweet and rate issues and inspirations you notice en route.
• Lightning talks and Q&A back at base, with Tower Hamlets councillor Joshua Peck, Jack Skillen of Living Streets, and Gustavo Montes de Oca of Hackney City Farm and The Golden Co.

On Saturday, review your findings & decide what should be changed and how local businesses and brands could help.

Team-up to hone your ideas, and pitch solutions using video, photos or other storytelling methods.
Then get feedback on your project ideas from a panel of local community and creative experts: local Hackney councillor Jonathan Mc Shane, Kate Hartley, MD of Carrot Communications, and Catherine Greig, founder of make:good

But how does the Changifying happen..?
The solutions become micro-projects, illustrated by your descriptions, photos, stories and videos.  Then the projects go forward to be posted and find backing on the Changify hub from the local community, brands and other supporters.

Where?
In Rockwell House Studio (Fri), the Tea Building (Sat) and around the streets of Shoreditch and Brick Lane, a historic and dynamic part of east London.

Who?
The event is open to anyone with a passion for making a difference. Come along, get creative and share your skills. What counts is curiosity and a desire to Changify the neighbourhood!

TICKETS:  FREE
(includes drinks & guided walk on Fri evening; tea/coffee, & refreshments on Sat, bring enough cash for lunch).
