If you're new to social media and want to learn how to get started this course is for you. 

 The session will help you get to grips with the world of social, looking at various platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, blogs, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest and more.  We will help you create great profiles your social media accounts on the day and show you step by step how to maintain your presence and engagement.

Each attendee will receive a personal appraisal of their social media and 10-step plan on how to improve and excel.  This is a valuable session for people who are keen to develop a social media footprint for themselves, their start up business or the company they work for.

Preparation:

You don't need to spend hours preparing, but to fully benefit from the course, please complete the Home of Social Appraisal Form at least 72 hours before attending .  It will be sent to you by email.  This helps us assess where you are and your skill levels so that we can produce a personal appraisal and 'How to' guide which you will receive at registration on the day.

9.00am - Registration

Receive your personal appraisals

Assemble in the 3rd Floor Space where the session will begin


9.30-11.00am - Introduction and agenda

Overview of social media for the group

Making sense of social media:

- social network specifics; what they do, how you can use them

- social media etiquette and how to avoid the common pitfalls

- creating a presence that works for you; for business and pleasure


11.00-11.30am - Coffee break and networking


11.30-12.30pm - Live interactive break out session:

- photography and social media profile updates and creation

- live networking on social media


12.30-1.30pm - 10-Step programme, from social media zero to social media hero

1.30-2pm - Q&A session, informal networking and tip sheets

2pm - event ends


 

Skill level:

 

Basic / entry level understanding of social media.

 

Audience:

Consumers, small business owners, start ups.

 

Key requirements:

Ability to use mobile phone, computers and the web.  

Bring a laptop, smartphone or tablet with you with an inbuilt wireless connection.

Existing social media profiles a bonus but not essential.

FAQs for attendees:

 

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Please bring your ticket with you to the event, that is all the ID you need.  The course is for 18 years and over, anyone under that age must be accompanied by an adult.  Contact me for further details.

 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Old Street and Moorgate are all close to the venue, please check the map for further details.  

 

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please bring a tablet, laptop or smartphone to the event,  There is wifi throughout the building.  You are welcome to bring your own refreshments but will need to dispose of any rubbish.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

If you are transferring your ticket, you are welcome to do so up to 48 hrs prior to the event and by advising the organiser.

 

Can I update my registration information?

If you wish to add further information, please sign in to Eventbrite and adjust your details.

 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring your printed ticket to the event.  You can also show your ticket on your mobile device if that is more convenient.

 

What is the refund policy?

Refunds are available within 7 days of booking and paying for the course.

 

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

If someone has bought a ticket on your behalf, please let the organiser know by sending an email to avoid confusion on the day during registration.
