This seminar examines key developments and challenges in encouraging growth in cloud adoption in the UK; tackling issues relating to security, business processes and environmental concerns; and helping develop the international competitive advantage of UK companies involved in cloud technology and services. Delegates will look at progress in the rolling out of data centres in the UK, including what further might be needed in terms of engagement with local government, and options for further government support for the sector - including strengthening cloud skills and infrastructure following the UK's Data Capability Strategy, encouraging the take-up of cloud services by the public sector through the UK G-Cloud initiative, and issues relating to the European Commission's Cloud Computing Strategy.  Planned sessions focus on progress and best practice in realising competitive advantage through cloud technology, including improved cost-efficiency, easier employee access to shared resources and harnessing user data. Those attending will also assess the challenges for businesses, individuals and for the cloud services sector itself of migrating to cloud technology, including concerns about data security, service reliability and service provider choice - and the practical issues for adoption such as impact on legacy systems and established work practices. We are delighted to be able to include in this seminar keynote addresses from Steven Norris, President, Data Centre Alliance and Karen Clarke, Vice President UK & Ireland Applications, Oracle Further speakers include: Philip Dawson, Chief Executive Officer, Skyscape Cloud Services; Dr Sam De Silva, Partner, Penningtons Manches; Cynthia O'Donoghue, Partner, Reed Smith; Dr Mark Ferrar, National Technology Officer, Microsoft UK; David Wilde, Director for Information Services (Chief Information Officer), Essex County Council as well as a speaker confirmed from Symantec.
