This seminar will be a timely opportunity to discuss the future of the UK big data sector, as well as examining the key challenges it faces.

With the development of a data-driven economy across the European Digital Single Market a priority for the European Commission, delegates will discuss best practice in the use of data analytics and its application within public and private sectors, particularly focusing on business benefits such as reducing cost, increasing consumer loyalty and improving efficiency - as well as the responsible handling of personal data.

Sessions also consider the key practical, technological and legal challenges for big data collection and use including issues surrounding consumer trust, skill shortages, and key considerations about consumer privacy in light of the forthcoming new EU General Data Protection Regulation.

We are delighted to have confirmed the following speakers: Dr Irene Lopez de Vallejo, Director, Research & Development, Digital Catapult; Carl Wiper, Senior Policy Officer, Information Commissioner’s Office; Jane Finlayson-Brown, Partner, Allen & Overy; Sue Daley, Head of Programme, Big Data, Cloud and Mobile, techUK; Phil Archer, Data Activity Lead, W3C and speakers confirmed from GO-Science and IBM.
