Description

With each of Scotland’s seven city regions at varying stages of the City Deal process, and following the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government and Communities Committee inquiry into Scotland’s City Deals, delegates will look at best practice for designing and delivering City Deals, including examples from both Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.

Further sessions will assess the potential for City Deals to meet the objectives of a range of policies such as the UK-wide Industrial strategy and the Scottish Government’s economic strategy, in terms of stimulating growth, driving innovation and developing skills.

Delegates will discuss opportunities for Scotland’s cities and regions to attract investment and develop international links in advance of the United Kingdom’s forthcoming exit from the European Union, as well as the way forward for developing partnerships with the private sector and promoting inclusive growth.
