Hi Simon,
First off i'd like to say...." very, very, very heavy". If i were to
stumble on to your site....i would not stick around...it took way to long
to load (preloading is 2700 frames/230+seconds..this is a poorly made
loader)and pls keep in mind that i am on a T1). And 560+kb is way to heavy
for the content that you now have it can easily be a third of this,
considering your content.
Secondly....and as Tyson mentioned...the "scan" lines....i also like that
effect, BUT...can anyone say New Beetle, VW? I am sorry but it reminded me
way too much of the volkswagen site (which had those cool "scan" effects
yet is one of the worst laid out flash sites i have ever seen.)
Now why is your flik so heavy? I will have to say the extensive use of very
big (size and weight) bitmaps, even though they are not big on the screen i
have a feeling that they were very large imported bitmaps.. Furthermore i
will guess that upon creation of the swf...the jpeg compression was left at
a very high level thus hardly any compression on the picture. Compress
those bitmaps or just looooze them, its killing your site. In this case i
think 25% is too much.
Now...if i am wrong about the bitmaps the only other thing i can think of
is your MC usage.
plz correct me if i am wrong on this.
