Your string has to be URL encoded, meaning that you need to
make sure all your weird characters are in %## form. The most
bothersome is the space which should be represented as %20,
but there could be other culprits. I've had problems with similar
symptoms solved by URL encoding, so that might be the problem.

It seems like it's probably a variable name (rather than a value)
since it only flakes out on POST, but these are just guesses...
