FLASH: image optimization

I need to preserve the quality of my images which are 300 x 600 wide and

still keep file size low.  I can get the JPEGs compressed outside flash to

30k but when I export them into flash the file size per image is about 300k.

Also, if I compress these files within flash the file size is 300k and

incredibly bad quality.

Any help concerning this issue will be greatly appreciated.
