I see no Movie-Clip Property variable for "fps". so the "easy way" is out.

Only thing I could think of is to have MCs of varying speeds, and swap them out
and in as needed (due to button presses)`. Use get property to determine at what
MC frame you're leaving the original, and jump to the next frame in the
replacement clip.
