Hi JGL,

Well, I am a faithful client with Sausage and Macromedia products.

For html development I use two programs:

1. Hotdog 5.5 Webmaster Suite
2. Dreamweaver 3

The new version of hotdog (Hotdog 6) handles system resources a bit better than
version 5.5 but, I haven't had time to try much of the new version. In my
opinion it's better than notepad and if you like Homesite, you'll find that
there are a lot of features in common.

I basically use Dreamweaver when I need to make quick tables and format an html
page without handcoding everything in first. The feature I like about
Dreamweaver is that to a certain point you control now the html is formatted.
For example, I like everything aligned to the left but, some of my co-workers
like to have tables indented.

Dreamweaver's website management is a bit poor (takes up a lot of system
resources, especially Dreamweaver 2), but if you need something simple, it'll
do. At least, when it reorganizes the site, it won't insert any html codes into
the webpages. Also, when you open up the webpage, if you have any misplaced html
tags, it'll be highlighted.

Once you learn how to manage Dreamweaver, you'll find that it's not like most
WYSIWYG html editors. This one doesn't insert trash code in your html pages.
But, it's a trick you'll have to spend some time getting used to.

For graphics, I like Fireworks compression abilities. I don't do much else with
Fireworks so I wouldn't be able to advise you.

I am a newbie in Flash and I think this list is great. Sorry, I couldn't be of
help to you with Flash questions, but about html products, I've tried lots. :))

Cinn.
