I've had symbols that I absolutely know for a fact aren't used anywhere in

the file still fail to show on that check. Sometimes I've just imported them

and not placed them anywhere except the spot where I just deleted it from -

no way is it anywhere else in the file! I dunno why, and it may be platform

specific (I'm on a mac, using Flash 4) but Michael Krisner on the Flashpro

list says he's had the problem on both platforms.

It will (in Flash 4 anyway) actually give you two items with the same

name... you can then rename one if you like. It's weird but doesn't actually

DO anything if you don't.

Flash on the mac is unstable enough (memory hog enough) that I back-up

constantly anyways - certainly back up all the time, in my opinion :)
