Have you tried opening Flash, then opening the FLA from there? Does it crash then?

When it crashes, what type of crash do you get? Do you get an error message?

In an earlier post this week, I recommended Typer for changing the type and creator of PC created files for the Mac users. Check out Antimony Software (http://www.antimonysoftware.com) - it's free and pretty easy to use.
