David;

valuation is extremely difficult for Internet services and especially if
you are a start up. It all depends on the nature of your service. If user
based, then you may get some ideas based on what value the industry puts on
eyeballs. But even this is obscure. AOL and Yahoo value users at inflated
levels, and others undervalue. The average is approx. anywhere between $80
and $120 per user, fluctuating daily and rather unpredicatble. Cash flow
projections are you other bet, and trying to develop a full-proof business
model is tricky. Again, the nature of this industry is such that no rules
really apply. You are basically winging it. Not much help to you, but you
can see that valuation is a challenging subject for all of us. If you have
any ideas, let me know.
