I know this may not seem earth-shatteringly important, but your equation of
weekly Somerfield shoppers == low computer usage is breathtaking in its
ignorance. I hope you don't do audience analysis or targeting for your
clients!

For what it's worth, I use Tesco direct but here in Brixton the stock
control is awful [Thanks BTW to FOE for the chance to moan about this by
email yesterday !] so I am waiting for Sainsburys extend their service from
Clapham (the couscous is soooo much better darling).

However, I agree with you, Lee (you have an excellent first name BTW), that
it is all about quality and service not first-mover advantage.

But let's face it. If you shop, seriously - like, every week do a biggy, at
somefield or kwik save then you are probably on the bottom end of the
computer users scale and therefore don't use the net to order food.

I used to use safeburys all the time, then when Iceland and Tesco started
delivering to my area I switched. Now I never go into a sainsways unless I
really have to.
I always order online and always from either tesco or iceland.

The philosophy is simple, not only have you got to get in first but you
also have to get the quality and service right.

These 2 seem to get as near to this as they can and this suits me fine.
