Lord give us Tampax banners on the web. And cosmetics. And nappies. And
toothpaste.

If there's one thing this industry needs is a kick up the ass with
regards to what is suitable to be advertised online. Look at the figures
- the demographic is changing rapidly. It's no longer just 25-35 year
old males with 20-30k incomes living in Southwest England. Nearly 40%
of UK surfers are female. The SmithKline Beechams of this world need
reassuring that their brands can sell to this changing audience, not
hear the same old rhetoric about IT and porn being the only goods that
shift online.

Who's at the cutting edge of online advertising? Proctor & Gamble
trialing broadband lipstick advertising on the @home network, that's
who. Companies like that are looking seriously at ways to take the high
street brands to the online consumer in ways that make today's banners
and 'click-through-rules' philosophy look as dated as 50s ads for bowler
hats.

Within a year the UK audience will have ballooned, dragged online by the
free net services. With them will come new advertisers who are not
phased by screaming BodyForm ads.

Lord please deliver us a mature and grown up media is that it is happy
to wear Pampers.

I assume you're asking this with reference to targeting female specific
advertising?

Lord save us from Tampax banners on the web....
