is retro-fitting a new look and feel  to 500,000 archive stories for the 

sake of a consistency worth the risk of breaking stuff in that archive?


esp. considering news.bbc is a live news site, and all that matters to 99% 

of users is the latest news, which will perforce be in the new look and feel.
