you might want to try yalplay - they have a big catalogue in pal format (but

then i would recommend them!)  or blackstar which is also pal and who are

very good. and i think video paradise do more than just chart stuff too.....


both ourselves and blackstar have struck deals with companies in the us

(reel.com and bigstar respectively) so that we can sell ntsc videos and they

sell pal - it is amazing how many us customers do actually want to buy pal

format tapes. it seems odd to me that hmv.com and hmv.co.uk haven't got

their heads together and managed to come up with a similar deal!?!

apropos the discussion about global / regional e-commerce, i ordered a video

from http://www.hmv.com last week, and only after i'd ordered thought about

pal v ntsc format.  i contacted them today to be told that all videos

supplied are ntsc (north american) format.  luckily, i was able to cancel

the order in time, but it raised some questions.


i can't be the first to experience the problem, and yet there is no

information available on the web site to prospective non-us/canadian

shoppers re formats.


i was able to cancel my order 6 days after placing it without incurring

costs - so much for same day shipment.


any recommends for good on-line video stores who stock pal format video

films that aren't in the current best seller list? (i was looking for a copy

of a 10 year old main stream hollywood film and drew a complete blank with

jungle.com etc.)
