I have witnessed many examples of many local UK web design houses that
ignore basic security when designing e-commerce sites for their clients. The
front end is secure enough (SSL etc) but then they typically just send the
orders (with credit card details) by unsecured email. The customer can't
tell, in fact the customer sees the SSL and is persuaded that it is secure.
Lawrence, please let me know how your brother gets on in claiming back the
loss from the credit card company.
