We use Majordomo for Freelancers.net mailing lists:
http://www.greatcircle.com/

It's not fantastic, so much so that we are writing our own bespoke software.
But it is free, and it does the basics well enough - in fact, I think it
might be what powers UKNM (Sam?)

[Sam says: yes, it is, although it's a customised version to get the
performance due to the volume of posts through all the lists at Chinwag]
