Our friends at The Glasshouse have an opportunity for London companies to take part in the World to NYC programme, run by the NYC Economic Development Corporation.

A delegation of Singapore start-ups will be visiting New York as part of the World to NYC programme May 9-13 May 2011, and they're inviting a London delegation to join them. As with their previous trips, this exciting five day programme will provide valuable contacts to: investors, clients, press and investor peers in the NYC business environment.

‘London to NYC’, is part of New York City Economic Development Corporation’s ‘World to NYC’ programme, which promotes trade and investment between New York City and London who have also supported the Digital Mission to New York.

Thinking about expanding your business to the Big Apple? There's been heaps of interest in this year's Digital Mission to New York (1-5 Nov) so we've extended the deadline until Friday 8th Oct.

This trip, the third to New York is timed to coincide with ad:tech New York, the biggest gathering of digital media and marketing types in the city, with 10,000 visitors expected and 290+ exhibitors confirmed. The Digital Mission companies will have access to the UKTI stand, plus Exhibit Hall passes included in the trip.

It was an interesting tone, as Mr Web 2.0 himself, Tim O'Reilly took to the stage to give a speech that was both a 'state of the web' address and a challenge to Google: Would they persue an open web or would they take the path of "one ring to rule them all," producing increasingly closed systems.
