Bio
I have been working with and developing for the web since an internship in the USA summer 1994, not quite the commercial beginning, but not far off. Since those days I have held a number of different positions and worked with a number of different companies and brands; mainly in and around he Internet and the web, but a few that fall into more general IT.
Brands that I have worked with (build or digital strategy or other), include: The AA, ADT, Airfix, Andrex, Barclays, Borders, British Gas, Cattles, Designers Guild, DLA Piper, Filofax, The FT, Goldfish, Lonely Planet, MHRA, MTV, Scalextric, Sony, Symantec, Volkswagen and more.
Although not so much at present the time spent at the technical coalface I believe has allowed me to see solutions both end to end and to drill down into the detail as required. I’m as comfortable talking about audience engagement techniques as Generics and Linq in C#; although I enjoy best building metric models and surpassing them with the campaigns we run at Red Ant.
Since 2003 I have been Technical Director at Red Ant Design, since 2009 I’ve also been CIO of Red Ant Group. My (now slightly old and being rewritten), thoughts on digital strategy can be found on this profile or on the Red Ant site http://www.redant.com (or at last count number 3 on Google for digital strategy).
Recently I have also be invited to join the faculty of Rutgers University teaching digital strategy on their MiniMBA courses within the EU.
Specialties Digital strategy and consultancy, Web development and architecture, Network infrastructure and Internet security.
