I think cross sell is where two non competing brands or organisations link
together to promote each other, like Express Dairies and Kellogg's
Cornflakes, or Claire Swires and Mouthwash.

Upsell is when a marketer will try and sell one product, knowing that there
will be the opportunity to sell accessories for it (like Palm Pilots and
digital camera attachments).
