Hi Eric,
Flash 2 doesn't allow creation of animated symbols.
You can fake by placing an animation (that plays contantly) below a
button and maling one or more states completely or partially
transparent. See the Roses at http://www.FlashCentral.com/ in the
Holiday section. The buttons aren't animated, they just expose the
animation below.
