Communication to and from Flash


FSCommand is one of two ways that a Flash 2 movie can send commands

outside of the Flash movie (other than loading a URL page in a window). 

  1) FSCommand works with Netscape's LiveConnect and ActiveX enabled

browsers.

  2) JavaScript: (The JavaScript Protocool) works for Netscape and MSIE4

using Win 95/NT. It doesn't workk with MSIE 3 Win95/NT.


Neither of these work for all Flash capable browsers.


Both FSCommand and Javascript commands are placed on the Network URL

line of a Frame or Button 'Get URL' Action. 

Using FSCommand and Javascript Protocool you can communicate from Flash

to JavaScript/VBScript.


To communicate from JavaScript/VBScript to the Flash movie, you use

Flash Methods.


Using  FSCommand or JavaScript protocool combined with the Flash Methods

you can communication back and forth between Flash and the outside world

via JavaScript and/or VBScript.


Unfortunately, some Flash commands are available only through Flash

Methods that can be controlled only from outside Flash.
