Hi Dave,
The extra frames is used to determine where to check to see if loading
has been completed to that point.

The sum of extra frames plus the current frames is the 'check if the
movie is loaded to this point spot'.

If you cross Scene barriers you must calculate the total number of extra
frames.

Flash 3 is much easier as you can use labels, scene names and the exact
instead of calculated frame number to check for.
