Subject: Multiple Tell Targets
From: Colin Moock

I recently did a test with Tell Target:

1) I have a button
2) I have a 2 instances of the same movie clip
3) Both instances have the same name: "number"
4) I add an OnClick action, Tell Target, to set the frame of
"../number" to 10.
5) I expected both instances of my clip to be updated by the Tell
Target. But they weren't.
Only the most recently placed movie clip by the name of "number" was
affected by the "Tell Target".

So to get both instances to change, I had to name them separately, and
have two Tell Targets.

jd, is there a reason Flash 3 doesn't communicate the Tell Target
command to all instances of identical names?

Just curious. In case you wondered, I'd prefer it if it did...saves
work.

Thanks,
Colin
