I've done something like this.

First off, use your circle tool to create a circle that you can chop up to

get the arc you want.

Then select and convert the arc with Modify>Curves>Lines To Fills and DO NOT

MAKE IT A SYMBOL.

Since I assume you want the complete arc as the final, make a Copy of the

arc, Paste it in the frame before, erase however much you need of it, and

repeat going backwards, until the line disappears. Then on another layer

have your dot placed at the leading edge of the drawing arc and voila!...

you have it.

Of course, one of the gurus here might tell you something different, but I

know this works.
