I had some problems with the Generator Tools showing up when I 

updated to 4.0a. I tried a re-install, but that didn't help, so 

finally, I simply moved the Flash 4 Preferences out of my Preferences 

folder (inside the System Folder) and onto the desktop, then launched 

Flash. A new preference file was created and my Generator palettes 

were back.


Give that a try, it's really easy and takes less than a minute.
