Uhhn, get a better box? My little eTower 366 can import a whole song in wav
format (gone up to about 6 min, CD quality) as can my old MacG3 233(in
aiff). Its quite RAM intensive, so if you have little (or fragged) swap file
space it may cause a lock up. It also takes a while to export during which
the box _acts_ as if its crashed (Flash gives no cues to its actual
busyness, though a look at task manager should show it still responsive),
but generally happily surfaces with a completed swf.
I'd try clearing your C drive to leave at least 200mb swap, do a thorough
scan and defrag, and it should work ok, or at least tell you what is wrong.
Anyway, that is how to import a whole song, you can of course try linking an
mp3 to play through another player with a get url (it won't sync to your
swf, though) or buy/learn a dynamic server tool that may work, if you
want...
