Yes. You do not need to use Load Variables to obtain variables passed in the HTML via query string.

View the source code for the page. You'll notice that there are several variables being passed in the HTML to the Flash movie, such as date, day and user IP address. Those values came from the server, but are being passed to the Flash movie. No additional actions are required. These vars/values now exist in the Flash movie with all the other data.
