Hi,
there are two daily sites you may be referring to.
At Shockwave.com, their is the Shocked Site of the Day. This is focused
on
sites that use Flash or Shockwave *and* are entertainment oriented. The
team at Shockwave.com (this is a separate company now) picks these
daily.
At Macromedia.com (www.macromedia,com/gallery) there is the Site of the
Day. This is focused on sites that use any Macromedia technology (Flash
and Shockwave, but also Dreamweaver, FreeHand, Fireworks, Generator,
Drumbeat, LikeMinds, etc.) The goal is to find a wide range of sites
that
showcase the best of what people are doing with our products. Sometimes
a
site is picked for virtuoso use of the product, other times the site is
picked because of good use of the product(s) and also compelling design
or
content, or a unique use of the technologies. It is a subjective
choice,
but there are a very wide range of sites chosen, from large corporate
sites, to "dot.coms", to developer sites, and to educational and
government
sites. We do aim for a good variety, from UI design, to product demos,
to
cartoons, to online training and education, etc. If we wanted just
cutting
edge Flash work, we might do almost all developer sites, but that would
in
the end not be as interesting to our diverse audience.
Do submit your site at www.macromedia.com/gallery if you would like to
be
considered.
HTH,
David
