I find this funny how you would want to give an award to "Big Company" for
using flash it defeats the purpose of giving out and award.
according to http://www.dictionary.com the term "award" means
award (-wrd)
v. tr. awarded, awarding, awards.
To grant as merited or due: awarded prizes to the winners.
To give as legally due: awarded damages to the plaintiff. See Synonyms at
grant.
n.
Something awarded or granted, as for merit.
A decision, such as one made by a judge or arbitrator

"Flash/Shocked Sites of the Day" Awards are not
awarded to artists or to showcase talent but to
tell everyone in the world that "Big Company"
uses Flash and so should they. It does not seem
to matter if there is only one flash element on
the page, if they are a well known company or a
strategic potential for the MM cause, they are
sure to get an award over the company who spent
365 days in sheer artistry and development to
create a stunning and what should be, in fact,
an award winning site. It is quite discouraging
to be honest and that is one reason why many
new start ups will be closely considering adobe,
who, quite frankly, praises artistry over brand.
