FLASH: Flash Player Freezing?

I have a very wierd problem occuring on my pooter, can any one shed any light?


When playing swf's through my flash player or viewing Flash content in any

of my browsers, they both seem to slow down and then freeze after about 5

seconds.  If I then move my mouse, the swf in Flash player or Flash web

page start playing again.


I am at a loss for words!


Pooter Specs:-


Flash PLayer 4.0r7 (I am not sure if this is the latest but I have just

downloaded it from Macromedia)

G4 400

196 mb

MacOs 8.6

Netscape 4.0

Netscape 4.7

I.E. 4.5

I.E. 5.0


I do not have a screen saver turned on, energy saver is turned off, disk

indexing is turned off, All but basic extensions turned off, no virus or

norton type software running and finally I have even tried removing myself

from a network but still no luck?
