Subject: FLASH: bitmaps in flash

Hey Flashers!

I am designing a movie that must have 5 product pictures. These pictures
need to be of a decent size, at least 200px by 250px. And must be of good
quality...no fuzziness or pixelation will do. The client also wants the
picture to slide into view (tweening) from the top of the movie. There will
be 5 pictures in this movie.

Can any Flashers give me any tips about optimizing these graphics for FLASH?

I have traced one bitmap (picture) and saved it as a symbol. The symbol file
size is 88158 bytes. The whole movie (so far) consists of one picture
tweening into the movie (stage size is 550x460). My swf file size is 87K
(and this is only one picture and one tween!)

I have decided to serve this movie on the web inside of a popup window (so
the movie will not open too large on a big monitor and have poor
perfomance.) I have tweened the image 240 pixels in 10 frames. It's not as
smooth as I would want and I am viewing the movie on a pretty fast machine.

Should I even be doing this in Flash? Maybe I should do this in Director?
The movie need to be served on the web...would I put a Director movie on the
web or would I take a director movie and export it to Flash??

Thanks in advance
