Subject: FLASH: flashability.org - The Ultimate Sniffer Continues!
Hi Everyone!
Just thought I would let you all know that we have aquired the name
flashability.org for the continuing efforts of Flash Compatibility Issues
and how to deal with them (FlashComp group). This domain should point within
the next 24 to 48 hours. Greg Hughes has donated a dedicated server and
bought the domain name.
Anyone who is curious can check out the current sniffer at:
http://208.186.192.210/javascript
This release is BETA but shows very promising results. The effort continues!
Barranger Ridler has taken on Project Management. He has shown tenacity to
getting this thing right! His many hours of time in development and standing
by for testing, as people went to the url where the sniffer is, has created
a hybrid script that is well on its way to becoming the 'Utimate Sniffer' to
help direct your site visitors to appropriate urls. Barranger's efforts
perpetuated the momentum that is producing the results.
Cheri Harder is working on a database that tracks everything from Useful
Links, Members, An Incubator(sort of a wish list), testing the current
release, and tools that developers can use to insure the widest audience to
your site. Going to be a pretty cool addition to the 'unofficial flash
web-ring'.
We are always looking for new members to this low volume list.
To subscribe to this list, please send an email to:
flashcompatibility-requestdesignthenet [dot] com (mailto:flashcompatibility-requestdesignthenet [dot] com)
In the body of the message, put: subscribe
By subscribing, you will stay informed of our efforts and you can help us
test and determine what other compatibility issues need to be addressed. We
need many varities of platforms:OS, browser, Flash versions etc.
We also look forward to MM Flash Deployment Kit and hope we can compliment
each others efforts.
Thanks for reading this and hope to see you at the flashcompatibility list!
