Can I have the job? I'll give up C++, Java and enterprise applications if I
can have $150 an hour for ASP, VB, flash, DHTML etc...
;o)
Seriously, $150 per hour is insane, I know one person getting $140 an our
doing enterprise java and thats because he runs the contract agency so there
is no middle man. A really hot System architect with 4 years Java, UML, and
years of C++ could get around $100 - $120 an hour in Atlanta and he would
have to be hot sh*t.
For the skills listed I would say the Atlanta market would support $30 - $50
($62K - $104K) an hour depending on the client and skill level. Going full
time could yield $50K - $80K ($25 per hour - $38 per hour) plus benefits,
medical etc.. Again depending on the client and skill level.
I am a contractor for one of the major web solution providers iXL, and I do
a lot of the interviewing of candidates on the Engineering side (Java, C++,
UML etc..)
Cheers
