Subject: | RE: FLASH: Flash Full Screen |

It's one thing if you get to a site and there are two links, one for regular
browser window and one for full screen, and you enjoy the full screen
experience so you click on the full screen link. It's an entirely different
thing when you click on a link and all of the sudden your browsers
attributes have been removed and your entire screen is taken over. IMHO,
that is absolutely obnoxious, and will cause me to leave 100% of the time.
Think of it in terms of someone who is not web savvy. Folks are used to
clicking the X in the top right corner of a browser to close it. If that X
is not there, regardless if there is a visible exit button, you will
inevitably "trap" some users. I've heard stories of people just giving up
and rebooting because they couldn't escape a full screen site. That's
certainly not the experience that I want to give my visitors...
It always reminds me of some low class warez or porn site that tries to
bombard you with advertising or restrict you from leaving....It's a cheap,
gaudy effect if you ask me...
