Subject: | FLASH: Question about bitmaps |

I've imported a bitmap in different formats (JPEG, PICT) and when I look
at the properites of the bitmap, I see that it says the bitmap is 32
bits/pixel and the bitmap comes in at over 1 MB. when after saving it in
Photoshop, is only 43KB. Why does this happen? I can't use the export
JPEG option since there are subtle gradients in the bitmap and exporting
to JPEG creates banding in the image. However, when I export as
lossless, the image looks great but the file size jumps up dramatically.
The size does go down from 1 MB. to 234KB. but that's still A LOT higher
than the original 43KB. that it was when I imported the bitmap. I need
the lossless quality of the image but not at the price of a large file
size. Any ideas?
