Subject: FLASH: Controlling loading of images
From: EssentiaCo

Hi,

I'm working on my first site for an architectural firm ... many bitmap
images. The problem, the initial screenshot on the site loads quickly, so
the user is able to press buttons before the images they are pressing the
buttons to see are available yet. This makes for some very convuluted images.

I've seen references to preloaders but have never used one. How could I make
my initial screenshot into a preloader that would wait until a specified time
to allow button pushing?

But even if I did do a preloader, it seems that the image files that need to
load up are pretty massive so what are some other options besides having a
really long preloading segment?

The site is currently at: http://www.hwf.com/website4.swf

The whole site is around 2000K. Any recommendations?

Thanks!
Kimberly
