Hi Nigel,
I've set the text field properties to draw border and bg, and include all font
outlines. The text field borders are showing up in IE now, but not yet in
Netscape (Mac G3). Can't figure out why, so I'd still appreciate help on this.
To access the CGI script, I'm using a Get URL frame action in frame 1, and for
variables I've selected Send Using Get. An onstage button has a load variables
action, level _0, and again Send Using Get. No problem with the CGI script;
tests fine in the browser (I'd send you the URL, but it's behind a firewall).
At any rate, I'm now able to get the variables using IE (do you know why the
damn download manager pops up on the Get URL action?), but Netscape is
still no go.
The prob I was having sorted itself out "magically", but what was happening is I
was getting an error message which was truncating the URL for the CGI script:
"Error Opening URL" followed by about half the URL. Don't know why it happened,
don't know why it's not happening now, computers are a mystery, Flash is voodoo,
and I'm busting my ass to figure this stuff out.
Thanks for the help, Nigel. If you have any ideas re: what happened, or why
text borders aren't drawing up in Netscape, I apreciate it.
Much obliged,
Hal
