Try Fireworks or Adobe's excellent ImageReady for these specific tasks. 

Debabelizer is good for batch convering movies to lower color-depths and 

bit rates, and MediaCleanerPro is helpful for getting the best 

compression with QuickTime movies. 


There are probably more useful things that can only be done within Flash 

to occupy the new-feature roster. ;)
