Sorry Warren, but I wanted Nigel to see one good reason why I dislike
the remote:
OK, NOW I'm mad!!
We are a start-up college ** E D U C A T I O N ** company that uses
CD-based and web-based Director and Flash.
On 6/25, we sent a Netscape/Shockwave-based TEXTBOOK CD-ROM companion to
press. We can't change the HTML now. It's gone. When the books hit the
dorm
rooms, and the students start studying for their first exam...
Poof...South Park!
I don't think the publisher will be very pleased with US. We'll be
blamed,
and we had no idea this was coming when we painstakingly implemented our
design.
Of course if they install the supplied software, a standalone Shockwave
7.00 installer, it's all OK. But once they "upgrade," the problems
start.
Don't change our product for us after we ship it! ...or we'll find a way
to
stop using your product!
Release a 7.0.3 immediately with the opposite default: NO REMOTE!!
****
This to me seems like reason enough...
Russ
