Didn't mean it to sound like marketing should *drive*

their implementations, just that they need to market

what they have already done!  I know in the developer

community, we understand, but at the management and

executive level deep within most

companies/corporations, it's unknown. 


Just saying it's a hard sell when management hasn't

heard of PHP, or Linux, or Java Servlets, or how Unix

can actually SAVE them money even though it costs more

up front.


The thinking is:  "I run microsoft at home and it

works great, why wouldn't it work for my business?"


Again, it's all about information and educating these

people, but you'd think Sun or Redhat or whomever

would be out there doing just that so I wouldn't have

to!  


I personally have found it easier to work *with*

corporations and make a great living using MS "tools"

then to argue with their position and not get the

job/contract at all.


BUT, at the end of the day, I get to go home and

develop solid apps on my Linux server running Apache,

PHP, MySQL, and Java Servlets -- while I put my feet

up on a couple of NT boxes collecting dust... :-)
