Sorry, although Netscape Navigator 2.0 was the first version to support
plugins, it was Nav3 that was the first version to expose this to
JavaScript via the navigator.plugins and related arrays.
There's no JavaScript that works for all visitors. What you *can* do,
though, is to route the visitors you can, and provide an alternate path for
visitors you can't detect. Besides helping with cases like IE/Mac or Opera,
the choice of plain-or-rich can also help people on slow modems or who use
speech synthesis.
