Hi Bill,

Some if not most shape morphing in Flash involves more than a little bit
of luck or acceptance of what comes out.
Hinting is a skill that must be learned, primarily by practicing and
experimenting.

One of the primary rules of hinting is to start at the upper left hand
corner and add hints counterclockwise. The next rule is if it doesn't
work counterclockwise try it clockwise :-)

If an object needs hinting I usually start with 4 hints at strategic
points usually at the four 'corners' of the 2 images.

Hinting, intermediate shapes and separating elements are the 3 ways to
have a shpe tween do what you want it to rather than what it wants to
do.
